Spinaway ‘On Radar’ For Tap to It

Trainer Ralph Nicks said Whisper Hill Farm’s Tap to It (Tapit), who earned ‘TDN Rising Star’ status for a winning Saratoga debut Sunday in which she overcame significant trouble, would be considered for the GI Spinaway S. Sept. 5. “It’s possible,” he said of the seven-panel test for juvenile fillies. “It’s on the radar,” he said. “I don’t know what we’re going to do. We’re going to let her tell us.” Of his charge’s debut, in which she was steadied and shuffled repeatedly, the Florida-based conditioner said, “She’s shown herself to be very talented, and then she showed she’s special by overcoming all that adversity yesterday. Sometimes, it could be two or three races before they go through what she went through.”
